You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3
I don't know about you, but the absence of peace fills my body with anxiety. It could be conflict in relationships, not having clarity on a situation or even things happening in our world that I have no control over.
I've walked through lots of hurt and tears over the years as I longed to find peace my own way. Why? Because letting go of control is not easy.
In 2019, God used a really difficult summer on the mission field to show me that my own doings will never produce the peace that my heart and mind long for. That peace can only come from the One who created me.
As we enter into the Christmas season, peace is not always the overwhelming feeling we have. There is family conflict, busyness and grief that often overshadow it. I want to encourage you this season to let go and trust the Peacemaker.
It can be so difficult to turn our worries over to God. We often let our anxiety stew until our stomach is in knots. However, the peace of God works miracles to stop our hearts from being troubled.
How do we access this peace? By surrendering our control over to the only One who provides us with the hope and unimaginable joy of our future, Heaven.
