Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15
Advent is a time of anticipation, a quiet expectation of the arrival of the Prince of Peace. In the chaos of the world and maybe in the uncertainty of our future or current circumstances, this peace serves as an anchor, grounding us in the unchanging truth of God's promises. It is a peace that surpasses understanding, offering solace to weary hearts and assurance in times of uncertainty. I personally can testify to this unexplainable peace when it carried me through my mom’s year and a half battle with cancer, and it is the same peace that I rely on today.
As members of one body of believers, our call to peace extends beyond personal tranquility. It asks us to foster peace in our families, our workplace, and our communities. We are called to be instruments of reconciliation and unity. This Advent, let us be intentional about spreading the peace of Christ through words of encouragement and acts of kindness, forgiveness, and understanding.
In moments of reflection, I pray we can all express gratitude for the peace that transcends our circumstances. May we all allow an attitude of thankfulness to lead us into the peace of Christ, shaping our perspectives and fostering a spirit of contentment.
I pray that this Advent will be a season where the peace of Christ reigns in our hearts, allowing us to bring His peace to a world that so desperately needs Him.
