Day 7: Hope

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

When I think of hope, I think of expectancy! I like to think of the expectancy of something good in the future. There are many negative things going on in this world, so it is easy to give in to the expectancy of all the bad things that are before us. If we are not careful, we begin to only expect the negativity to continue. Jesus came so that we can have hope. We need to strive to have the expectancy of Jesus showing up and being in the midst of our hardships and helping us to reach to the other side of our troubles. Hope changes everything! He is our every hope. Trust in Him! Call on Him! He wants us to lean on Him and He will deliver us from anxiousness, defeat, depression, helplessness and fear. Be still and listen. Hear Him speaking. The Holy Spirit is calling us to have hope in a desperate world. He is the peace giver! He is what we should always wait in expectation for… He is our only Hope! Come and receive this gift from the Lord. May your Christmas season be filled with the hope that Christ wants you to receive.
